I purchased this ivory rug and am pleased to find it is a real rich ivory. No bright white, no yellow undertones. It was delivered very quickly (although I have a Prime) and arrived two days earlier than originally estimated which was a pleasant surprise. The carpet was wrapped tightly in thick, high-quality plastic, sealed with plenty of tape to prevent moisture or damage. When I first unrolled the rug the fibers were quite compressed, but only due to the way it was stored and transported. . All it took was a quick flick of your foot or hand to lift the fibers and they instantly became plush. Like many reviewers, I was pleasantly surprised at the softness of this rug! It's so beautiful underfoot. My preschooler loved to feel it under his toes and my elderly labrador loved to curl up in this rug at night. I can say it's comfortable. I had serious reservations about buying this rug ONLY because I was concerned I wouldn't be able to use my current vacuum on it without tearing the fibers. I asked a question on this site, several people answered, and in the end I took a chance and bought it. I petted it for the first two weeks, but then my dog conveniently gave us the test we needed: She climbed into a small bag of maple-flavored ground coffee while we slept and tore it apart down the middle of the carpet . Wake up to the smell of strong coffee. AND WHAT WAS THE BROWN SPOT IN THE CENTER OF MY BRAND NEW CARPET. Aha! I was able to pull the fibers apart with my fingers to get the thick stuff out of the carpet with the vacuum attachment - that worked great. Final exam. I reluctantly decided to try vacuuming with the agitator on and it was GREAT! (I have a Dyson Ball Animal.) The vacuum helped lift what was left of the fibers and didn't hurt. The plush bristles require a few extra passes in different directions to get adequate fiber cleaning, but that's the only problem with a regular vacuum. I was also able to treat the carpet with an industrial foam cleaner to remove the brown coffee stain from the fibers and it dissolved with no problem. The carpet was recovered and there is now no evidence the problem was even there. I try to vacuum this rug every 3-4 days to keep dirt from building up on it. I took a chance ordering ivory but was keen to decorate our living room in our 1850's home. This is a high traffic facility with two adults, one child, one dog and one cat. However, it holds up very well. My final pleasant surprise is that the carpet provides significant insulation over our old hardwood floors. We live on the Canadian border in a very cold area in an old drafty house. This winter, the rug is much warmer than our old short pile rug. It was a welcome change at a depth of 25 below temp. Ultimately, this is a wonderful rug that feels much richer than the price I paid for it. I have never bought this brand but would happily do so in the future if the next need arises.
