I recently built a shelf with about 70 pocket holes and 70 pocket pins. This time there was a red oak in the forest, as were the forks. I didn't pre-cut the Red Oak connectors, which would have made them more even, but instead cut out a Dremel guide in the "Dremel 565 Universal Cutting Kit" so I could go to the connectors and use the 194 bit. It was raised about 1/32" from the surface. As long as the cutting guide was flush with the wood, the fork turned it into minced meat. To avoid making a lot of smoke, the drill bit is designed to cut in one direction (however, if you press it, you can cut in the other direction and create a lot of smoke in the process.) I was able to use a multi-function sander to wash off the remaining amount of sandpaper and then, if necessary, the wood spatula to the neighboring woods. This cutter/sander worked much better and was consistent as long as you kept the cutting line flush with the surface. For routing on narrow wood, I clamped more wood on both sides and flushed it with the piece of wood with a pocket dowel. This cutter in this app saved me a lot of time. Now that it is I changed the drywall cutting guide it's time to replace it with the new one this purchase is.
