It all started when the kitchen sink light blew out. Of all the options available, simply replacing what was there and hardwiring a segment of that product was the right way to go. One strip was brighter than the 24-inch fluorescent tube it replaced. And I have 5 more sections to play with elsewhere for other projects. Very happy with my purchase! For those who need more detail: - There is a 3-pin connector (only 2 are used) at the ends of each "section". - The package comes with "pigtails", "plugs", extension cords and "connectors" to match the ends of the sections. I used one of the pigtail sections to connect the section to the wires coming out of the ceiling. The ground wire has nowhere to go and then I aligned hot and neutral connections to fit in a "plug" connector. - You can use extensions to join fixture sections together, turn corners, etc. - "Plug" adapters allow you to attach one section next to the previous one to form a seemingly continuous, longer single light. Great design and as a product engineer I'm pretty critical of products.
