Anyone thinking about this should be aware that you cannot control the camera if the pad fully protects it. You need to fold the back panel up to reveal the camera body, take a photo, and then fold the back panel down. When I bought this product, this experience was not entirely obvious. Maybe I didn't do enough research, so I take some of the blame. However, marketing and images give the impression that the camera body has some protection when shooting, but I found it almost impossible to operate the camera without fully opening the body. Even after acknowledging the need to expose my body, untying the drawcord, raising the backrest, and trying to use the camera controls in the suitcase is quite awkward. Days to use the case with the Sony A7III and I just couldn't put it down smoothly. The camera is "weatherproof" but is known to have an imperfect seal around the hot shoe and the battery door that opens when this case is used. In the end, I simply covered the weak spots with tape, tucked the camera under my rain jacket when not in use, and briefly exposed the entire camera to take photos. This worked much better for me. I have many other Peak Design products and am very happy with them. Slide Lite and Cuff are magical products that finally put an end to my search for the perfect harness system. Seriously, you should buy these products if you don't have them. But this $50 briefcase was an expensive trinket that would likely be left at home.
