Review on πŸ”Œ CableCreation 2-Pack Internal Mini SFF 8643 SATA Cable by Trevor Blazis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Slim, flexible but a bit fragile

I've bought a lot of CableCreation cables over the last year. I was very happy with the cables I used with my old SAS2 card/expander so it made more sense to buy more when I was upgrading to a SAS3 card (9260-8i to 9361-8i). As mentioned, the SFF-8643 connector doesn't seem to fit very well in the expander. This caused the cables to unexpectedly detach from me, resulting in a spam of ASC errors, which initially misled me into thinking it was a hardware or cable failure. Once I snap them in, they seem to stay in place. The cables are very thin and can therefore easily get caught. As a result I accidentally damaged one which resulted in another error spam which initially tricked me into thinking I had a bad drive because I didn't see any damage to the cable, but once I replaced it, no problem. It's not her fault, I screwed up, but learn from your mistake and be careful with the poetry. The cables are very flexible, but you can easily pinch them if you bend them too much, so that's another thing to be aware of. Will definitely be buying more cables from these guys in the future if needed.
