Installation Refinement

INSTALLING THE GIZMO USB WI-FI ANTENNA DEVICE: I'm using Win 10. The first thing to know is that the driver resides in the USB device itself, not in Windows. Plug it into a USB port and then it will quickly show up in Win 10's File Explorer as "REALTEK(x:)", a kind of USB drive under your C drive and under any other drives or USB devices you have connected. Left click on it and it will open to select folder to install Win or Mac driver. Select your operating system and it will install from there. You may need to restart your PC or something. Now find the available networks that came up in the system tray and select yours. Connect with it. You will be asked to enter your normal modem/router password, not something new or something you don't already have. It's likely that this password is printed on a label on the bottom of the device itself. Anything that connects to it wirelessly must use the same password. Once the driver is installed, it will no longer show up in File Explorer even if you change USB ports. And yes, the instructions in the pictures are too small to see even with a magnifying glass - I tried. They are fuzzy and the written/printed instructions are small and cryptic at best. It's not exactly "plug and play" as advertised, but it's almost possible with a decent guide. Good product at a good price that could use more detailed instructions. You can try using a USB cable to position the antenna/device in the best place for the Wi-Fi connection, ie behind the computer and above or closer to the modem router.

Pros
  • Dual Band WiFi: This USB WiFi adapter with OFDM wireless technology brings you a new dual band experience. The 2.42GHz band has a wider signal range, while the 5.8GHz band has less interference and faster speed. It intelligently searches for the best signal bandwidth according to the real-time network connection.
Cons
  • Poor instruction
