I have a Dell T30 computer and am using this cable because I bought a 600w EVGA PSU. This power supply has a 24-pin cable. However, my computer's Dell motherboard has an 8-pin connector. This is a great adapter cable. After installation everything worked fine. I was a little paranoid at first using this cable as I read some reviews saying the cable was damaged and someone's motherboard burned out. You should be fine as long as your cable is in good condition and you ground yourself when installing it.
