Light, battery and all fasteners are disgusting. I currently ride with a 250 lumen Niterid headlamp and a regular 130 lumen headlamp, which is enough for the hundreds of overnight rides I've done. I bought this because my niterid is probably 8 years old and I barely get 2 hours out of it. I figured I would turn on 600 lumens bright eyes which would give me an amazing light from one battery. But I have to tell you, it's so much fun to put it up (it's brighter than regular car headlights!) and light up the forest! To be honest it's so bright here I can't see the light from a headlamp and it will definitely ruin your night vision for a few minutes. It's just a really nice kit that I'll probably mount on my helmet as my 30ft scan light, with my assist light on poles pointing a few feet in front of me. It could be a bit wider, but it has plenty of ambient light (and possibly reflected light) to illuminate your periphery. It looks really well made and the full instructions are pretty honest about lithium's specs so I'm reckoning on the usual 1000 cycles which should give me years of use. It's amazing when things get cheaper and better over time. I think I paid $130 for my nitrider!
