Review on Atwood 94026 XT Water Heater by Antonio Curry

Easy Installation

Although stated to fit in the same space as previous Atwood water heaters, this one does not. The room needed to be enlarged, which wasn't easy - you know how small these rooms are, but ours is below ground level. We had to buy a new PEX line for "hot" water as the old plumbing didn't need it, it was regular PEX, plus all the new RV PEX fittings. If you live in a rural area like we do, expect shipping all those PEX materials to take some time. Then we find out that it doesn't have the same setup for the switch - it has two switches instead of one - the panel box in our camper van is oak and so again this switch didn't fit in the same place as the old one and Now see the setup doesn't look good in a panel box. We also found that it has a dedicated DC/AC setup, so some electrical knowledge is required to get it up and running. My very skilled husband couldn't figure it out, so we hired an electrician. Sorry but I have some doubts about those "unverified" buyers who say the install was easy. We've had many, many RV's over the last three decades and as I said my husband is very adept at fixing anything that comes up. In this case it wasn't. Great water heater and good customer service - they sent us a schematic for the DC/AC setup - although it took us 10 minutes to get through to a customer service rep.
