They work well for the most part. These large bottles fit in the water bottle pocket on the side of my kid's backpack. If they stay closed, they won't lick. However, the cap on one of the bottles came off easily and water flooded everything in my daughter's backpack. The other two in the set didn't have this problem. My son's water bottle was thrown off his desk at school and the side of the cap was completely broken off. not durable enough for daily use by a child. The rubber ring around the lid also started to crack because kids are kids and they were holding the loop and swinging it around (neat - nothing crazy). It might be fine for adults who are more mindful of their belongings, but we're opting for Contigo bottles for now.
