I had a pair of old fancy wool boots that are about 14 years old and still make great socks. Didn't know the size. I bought all three sizes to try and find the right one. What a waste of money. These socks aren't even from the same universe as the old Smartwool socks. You buy a name. To make matters worse, there's no easy way to tell the difference between thin, medium, and heavy at a glance. REALLY DISAPPOINTED
