Very misleading - the declared power is 670% exaggerated

In summary, the claimed performance of this combo pack is overstated by 670%. Yes, you read it right! I don't write reviews (this is my first review) but got me thinking about how disappointed I would be if I installed them on my beautiful truck. Luckily they fit my Honda Rancher. Earlier this month I bought a Nilight ZH016 12" 72W Spot Combo Bar 2PCS 4" 18W. I installed them on my ATV and immediately noticed how weak they are compared to standard halogen bulbs. I hooked up a TRMS DC clamp meter only to find that it draws about 3 amps when it should be closer to 8.5 amps ((72w + 18w + 18w) / 12.6v nominal with off Engine). I chose Nilight ZH414. Bar Counter Set, 12" 300W High Beam Combo Work Lights, 2-Piece 4" Triple Row 60W Bulbs and try it instead. This time I tested with a multimeter and to be honest I tested with my desktop power supply. At exactly 12V, the "300W" flashlight used only 42.12W (3.51 x 12V). "60W" lamps consumed 10.2 W (0.85 x 12 V). The lighting pack, which advertises a total output of 420W, actually only has 15% of the 62.52W output. Decided to fool people. I think the system is good for the money. Not for a good truck, but acceptable for a tractor or ATV. I like that they include a relay and the button is pretty nice. However, for me, all this is overshadowed by false advertising. Rather than making things up, they should be doing actual lab testing and actually showing third-party certified lumens.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
