This item was great. My fan had a whirring noise and I have fixed many issues with it. I have two fans. One in Hampton Bay and one in Hunter. Both were very slow and made a terrible noise at high speeds. I changed the switch and also vacuumed. Read online and do your research. It turns out that sometimes the capacitor (monitored element) fails. Of course, after careful inspection, the capacitor looked burned out and out of place. I got the exact specs of the capacitors I needed for my two fans and bought them. I consider myself a good jack of all trades and have swapped them out on both fans. The fans work great. No noise and work very efficiently and quickly at high speeds. Other speeds work very well. Eventually, after several attempts to fix them, those two capacitors failed on both of my fans. Brilliant!
