Review on πŸ” Vortex Optics Solo R/T 8x36 Monocular: Improved SEO-Friendly Product Title by Brion Pine

Great product but takes practice.

We've all used binoculars, but a monocular is another matter entirely. They offer some disadvantages and advantages that you won't find in their bigger siblings. Monoculars tend to be cheaper at relatively the same level of technology because you don't have to worry about two sets of optics. They are lighter and much smaller than binoculars, meaning they are easier to store and carry. Enter Vortex! I discovered this item after using some of their products in shooting sports. Vortex makes VERY good scopes at competitive prices. When it came time to buy a monocular I thought I'd give them a shot and I have no regrets. As with any product, you must determine your need or you will end up buying the wrong one. I bought mine mainly for training purposes. I needed an optic that I could hang around my neck and access quickly to view targets after reducing the distance a bit and it works great. Pros: It is durable and well made. i love living Offers protection and excellent grip. The ergonomics are great and with a little practice you should be able to use it and adjust the focus with one hand. Comes with a strap and soft case, as well as a universal clip for attaching the device to a belt, bag, etc. Another really cool feature is the mesh itself and the silhouettes directly on the mesh that allow you to appreciate what's on offer. The instructions that come with it even tell you exactly how to do it. Very cool. The picture quality and clarity are fantastic. A friend of mine had a $300 version of this line of products and to be honest I haven't seen much of an improvement, at least not three times the price. -Use, I generally like the hard case option for my optics. That was not the case and I will be looking for an aftermarket case that I hope will meet my needs. This would be forgivable IF it came with lens caps, but unfortunately it doesn't. Eye relief: Anyone who has used a monocular knows that eye relief is the distance your eye should be from the optics. , can be difficult. The soft eyecup SHOULD help position the device the right distance from your face, but I've found that it doesn't quite do it and I have to 'strike' the middle ground at times. I don't blame Vortex for this, as this is in no way a design flaw of this product, it's just a game to be played with binoculars. With a little practice, I was able to learn much faster. This is a great product. If you want great optics from a reliable company I can think of a lot worse starting places than Vortex. It might not have all the bells and whistles I wanted but given the high quality and affordable price I think this is a bargain with a great product.
