This monitor has no settings for how long it stays black when not in use. It automatically goes to a black screen with an amber light (usually a white power light to indicate the monitor is on) that goes to sleep after about 5 minutes of inactivity. So when you need to go to the bathroom or answer a call, you automatically know to turn the monitor off and on again, because when it's in that standby mode, you can keep clicking the mouse and the screen remains black, the monitor refuses to wake up. In my opinion a very bad monitor!
