Absolutely essential tool for installing exhaust bellows on a Mecruiser output drive. I used a tool to slide the exhaust bellows over the transom flange and also slide it over the bell body flange. You may be able to fit the exhaust bellows to the edge of the transom without this tool, but once the bell body is in the gimbal, no one can push the bellows onto the bell body flange with fingers or hands. Follow the Mercuiser manual and the installation will take 15-20 minutes. Without tools, I could easily see someone spending hours trying to install a bellows. The tool is built well enough to get the job done and is reasonably priced.
