I have bought a few dozen of these units for everyday use in the AV rental industry. They fail at this job because they are constantly being packed, unpacked, and installed and removed in large A/V jobs. I have never had a single failure at this "hard work". The metal body holds up much better than plastic, and the 10 outlets make it easy to plug in a large number of devices, reducing the need for additional power strips in a typical installation. The spacing between the sockets is perfect to accommodate all of the electronics we use which are powered via "wall warts". And the long, 15-foot heavy-duty cord is just right for getting to the nearest outlet without an extension cord. I highly recommend them for heavy field work.
