GREAT SHOWER ON THE CHEAP

I had been looking for different ways to have a shower in my bathroom. The surrounds that attach to the walls are expensive, plus I had a window to deal with. Labor would have to be hired as well and who knows what lurks behind the wallpaper? The fancy hoops for stand alone tubs that hang from the ceiling are also expensive for what they are and would definitely need a stud or two for attachment.I started looking at drapery rods and found this baby, which is inexpensive and easy to install. I think the shower curtains cost more! I simply formed an oval where the ends bypassed each other, used a plumb bob to determine where the inner part of the tub started and screwed in the track holders, making sure there was one every foot or so. Didn't even use a drill because a phillips screwdriver turned into the wallboard makes a perfect hole.I hung three curtains to make the complete surround. Two overlap by about a foot in front and the rear has a 40" wide curtain to cover the gap there. Standard curtain length was good enough.Trying to figure out what's next for this neat rail and trolleys!

Pros
  • The KXLife Flexible Curtain Ceiling Track is incredibly lightweight, making it easy to transport and install
Cons
  • The track may have difficulty staying flush against the ceiling, leading to a less uniform appearance
