First, completely remove the TV from the bracket. Leave the cables intact. I say put the TV away because you might want to stand behind the TV and need space. There is plenty of room for cords in the details. Lay out the ones you want, paint them and test your wall. There is a nail in the screw pack. This is necessary to drill a hole in the wall for the screws to go into; Screws don't bite on their own and trying to do it without a nail will result in lots of scratches.
