Works great BUT needs monitoring

This works about 90% of what I was hoping for. My kitty can still reach her hind legs to nibble on itchy skin, but the way she ties the collar is what worries me the most. It's a lace, so the animal can loosen it. My girl managed, she put her front foot in the hole and got stuck. She just lay on the ground until I saved her. The biggest concern is that the tension thread is a loop. My cat stuck her paw in and hugged her neck tightly. I'm not sure if it will ultimately be enough to choke her, but it's worth checking out. Thankfully I kept a close eye on her for the first few days (and petted her face and neck since she couldn't). I asked everyone in my house to keep an eye on her, keep the noose on the back of her head, and scratch her often while she heals. I would still prefer this over a traditional pubic cone because it's easy to avoid accidents with close monitoring and it's a lot more comfortable for her (it's almost like a pillow to rest her head on). If you are out all day and the kitten is alone, you may want to choose a different type of collar.
