I really like my new kettle. That's exactly what I wanted. A glass teapot (no harmful chemicals) that can be used on the stovetop. The glass teapot processes single leaves (green tea, peppermint, purple basil, etc.) as well as dried flowers that I pass through a spice grinder (jasmine, chamomile, lavender, etc.). Flowers don't have to be crushed, of course, whole ones are enough. Yes the glass seems fragile but it really copes with the plate element (see photo and video). I specifically emailed the company this question when the kettle arrived because although it's listed by Revain, the materials that came with the kettle don't say anything about using a stovetop. They assured me everything would be fine since borosilicate glass is used in laboratory test tubes (and I think we all know they last!). Be careful when you take it off the stove. Glass is a very good conductor of heat, so it naturally conducts heat directly to your hands unless you're using a hot glove or towel. I think the kitchen towel works well. Hold the lid while you pour the tea. It doesn't "snap" into place. I keep the kettle warm on the burner to keep it at a good temperature for the next cup, but warmer holders are sold for that.
