Good idea but the technology isn't quite ready yet

The backlight is good and decent but the Bluetooth technology isn't quite ready yet. I'm not sure if it's hardware or application related. I thought the people saying the lights were going out was because they were using their phone and they were out of range of their phone. My idea was to use an old iPhone that can be used in the same way as an iPod touch and just leave it in the room. I only installed two lights as a pilot. Quickly connected, both named for identification and placed in a new "room" of the trail. I started tweaking the first one and was able to change the color and make it darker. However, by this time the second was already disabled. I didn't move and sat a few feet from both lights. I went back and reconnected the other light. It has already lost its name and the designation of the site. So I renamed and set it up again, but the first one got disabled. At this point it became more difficult to reconnect with them. I'm fairly tech savvy and struggled to control just two lights from a stationary position for at least 30 minutes before I gave up and decided to bring them back. There was no way for me to run a bank. of ten lights, even if I only dedicated the device to this one purpose. The idea of group control, switching on a timer etc. seemed unattainable at the time. The lighting works well but the remote control technology was not as advertised. I ended up buying another brand of lights that were color selectable with a physical switch and I would turn them on and off with a wall switch/dimmer. I am sorry.
