It was a little noisy at first, then it got quieter. Does a great job of keeping my MacBook Pro cool and I love that the USB connector offers bandwidth that you can plug into something else so the port doesn't get overloaded. Uses a minimum of juice. Sometimes I just use it as a computer stand because the ventilation is enough when the room isn't too hot or stuffy.
