Review on The Burley Ballz Thru Axle: Unleashing Versatile Connectivity for Enhanced Performance by Mario Beckwith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect thru-axle length with some issues

This thru-axle is not 197mm long, it is much longer. 197 refers to the size of the axle lock nut. I bought this to replace a rear axle so I can attach my Burley Coho cx cargo trailer. The overall size is larger because it extends past the rear dropouts so the Burley Ballz threads and tightens on the outside of the rear dropouts. I'm concerned about the plastic the bullets are made of. I consider it an easy duty, but time will tell. So if you're reading this and trying to figure out the Burley Ballz size chart, follow the instructions on the Burley website even if it doesn't make any sense. Better yet, measure the length of your shank through the axle and determine the thread pitch, then call Burley for advice. This item is made in China and my experience with the Burley Coho XC and accessories has been average to well below average. I don't feel safe recommending these Burley products.
