Dual purpose doesn't mean you have a choice.
There is no flame selection on this lighter. According to the accompanying manufacturer's instructions, it is "recommended" to burn the fuel before striking the arc. If you don't do this, both the ARC and burner will ignite at the same time. In the return instructions from the same manufacturer, it says "Full throttle" on the packaging. So, two butane-filled lighters and an arc charge are boxed and mislabeled, waiting for UPS to pick them up at my house.
