We bought three of these for the three vents on the roof of our van. Fitting and attaching to existing vents was easy following the included instructions. The included hardware allowed for different types of mounts on the different vents we had. One vent was a Maxaire fan with a thick plastic case. The other two vents were thinner metal frames. The included mounting screws worked for metal frames, while the included self-tapping screws worked well in plastic. The brackets were easy to position and install on the lid base. After installation and during the downpour that followed shortly thereafter, for the first time we were able to leave our vents open and circulate air through the house with a ventilation fan instead of turning on the air conditioning. I really like these canopies and would buy them again if we needed to cover other vents.
