My daughter just started her own gaming channel on YouTube and my wife and I decided to get her a ring light. As it turns out, she chose not to show her face in her gaming videos and since I was working from home and couldn't block out the daylight behind me, this was perfect for me. It was very easy to assemble, just screw the rod to the base and the ring light to the rod. It plugs into a USB socket, so I plugged it into my laptop. The cable is long, around 6 feet, so it will fit most configurations. The built in switch on the cord has 4 buttons, on/off, dim, brighten and hue toggle. The light has 3 shades: normal, "cold" and "warm". I prefer to keep the light "warm" as the ambient light makes my face look healthy ;-) And I set it to the lowest of the 10 brightness levels. The brightest setting is almost blinding and the lowest is good even when I have migraines. The ring light is perfect for showing my face on video calls and essential for adding virtual backgrounds - it eliminates flickering. The ring light is adjustable from 1 foot to 2 feet. The base is about 5 inches in diameter and keeps the ring light stable. The ring light is also tiltable, which came in handy last weekend when we had a few hours of power outage. My laptop powered it and we used it to light up our living room, it was great! The ring light comes with a bluetooth remote for the camera which I just tested with my phone. There are two buttons "Camera" and "Android". They even included a spare battery for the remote control, CR2032. On my Samsung S9+ it looks like both buttons just took a picture. I haven't tested the phone holder that came with it.
