I bought this mounting bracket because the very cheap screws that attach a 500GB hard drive to a standard mounting bracket broke when I tried it to remove to install an SSD. The build quality of this mount is significantly better than the stock mount and is made of thicker, stronger metal that will not bend. Despite using thicker metal, there were no problems fitting it into the PS3 Super Slim; If anything, it slipped in more easily than an old standard hard drive unit, although that could be due to the two drives rather than the two brackets. This mount still comes with the same cheap screws, so it may not survive multiple drive upgrades. one star for that. Now that I know there is a decent PS3 Super Slim mounting bracket - which I didn't do before buying my PS3 - I'd be $30 better off getting the 12GB version and this bracket buy Now I have a 2.5" 500GB hard drive that I don't need and even if I could find a use for it, I still can't get it off the shelf.
