Buying a PS3 2nd as it was cheap didn't cost me a hard drive mount as I had a hard drive which the purchase allowed me to put in and the download ps3 no problem, there wasn't much to install, just insert the hard drive, screw and plug in, then boot up and enjoy

I received 3 to 4 ratings for this product because it took a long time to adapt it to my PS3 Slim. But when it fits, it works perfectly. I was doubtful how long the adjustment would take as I had to keep a folded piece of paper inside to keep the tolerance tight enough so the hard drive connection to the PS3 wouldn't break.

After reading some reviews this seems like the best option for adding a hard drive to the super slim PS3. A few weeks ago I received a used PS3 SS and was disappointed to see that it only had a 12GB hard drive. I had a spare solid state drive and put it in this container and connected it to my PS3. Performance increase in 15 minutes. I've built several computer systems in my time and seen many hard disk containers. I was really impressed with the quality and fit of this product.

After I wrestled the stray shock absorber into the bracket, everything was smooth. Aesthetics may not matter too much for a piece that will live forever in a device, but this is the most beautiful product of its kind I have ever seen. On the other hand, a few simple illustrations added to the guide would help you immeasurably, but it doesn't prevent you from using the product, it just makes something you might not understand as clear as you can could hope for.

I bought this mounting bracket because the very cheap screws that attach a 500GB hard drive to a standard mounting bracket broke when I tried it to remove to install an SSD. The build quality of this mount is significantly better than the stock mount and is made of thicker, stronger metal that will not bend. Bought two of these for a couple of game consoles that a couple of friends bought but wanted to add an extra hard drive. I was able to install one of them relatively easily.
