Review on 🚦 Enhance Safety with Dorman 923-255 Center High Mount Stop Light for Volkswagen Models by Micael Rau

I bought this for a 2001 VW Beetle. Let me say the price is great BUT if they spent a few extra pennies and fixed the seal it would be a home run! The seal is the downfall of this item as it doesn't lay flat enough to fit properly, making it almost impossible to use factory screws to secure it. I was playing around with this for a WATCH. I ended up buying longer screws (4M 0.70 12mm) to access the screw holes that are inaccessible due to the stupid gasket. After putting in a few longer bolts I was able to use the factory bolt in the final hole which, once tightened, broke the plastic piece the black piece is rotating on (due to the sealing). I sent the part back to Revain and bought the original part from the dealer for $87 and it fits perfectly because the gasket lays flat! Buy a new OEM or get one from a junkyard and save yourself a BIG hassle.
