We ALWAYS have a live tree. This year was no different, except that THIS YEAR (2021) our tree died about a week before Christmas. We unplugged the lights, took down the decorations and dragged the dried out tree to the back lot. We didn't want to spend a bunch of cash on another live tree that had been sitting on a lot, so we thought we'd try an artificial one as a filler. After looking for an hour online I settled on this very affordable artificial tree (6.5 feet actually). Why? It was under $100 (at the time I bought it), it stated that delivery could happen in three days, and it had many excellent reviews. So.why not? I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely, sturdy and life-like this tree is. First, it is heavy, so it's pretty substantial and could hold our own lights (in addition to the ones it had), and support our ornaments. It was easy to set up, and only required a little diligence to fluff the branches (which include pinecones, and needles of varying green shades and textures to make it more realistic). The pre-lit functions all worked and we settled on the steady/multi which coordinated with our larger LED lights. It took a bit of fussing, but no more than 10 minutes, to get our star to work at the top. I also purchased the fake tree trunk cover and a new tree skirt which had a smaller opening in the middle than the one we had been using for years with our live trees (both suggested online by other shoppers). I am thrilled with the last-minute fix this gave us. The tree is gorgeous, and I may just opt to forego the problems and potential safety issues of a live tree in the future.
