My wife ordered five pairs of Carhartt gloves for me to try on for Christmas. I've always had cheaper gloves with my fingers taken off and a common problem I've had with them is that my fingers always get really cold after a while. The solution was to pull my fingers into the main body to warm them up against my palm and every other finger, which was a double-edged sword. As I warmed my fingers, my fingertips grew colder and colder. I only wear them on a few cold days and am happy with their performance. I notice that my fingers stay warm but sweat a little with hard work. I was shoveling a lot of snow in 20-30F weather and my hands got too warm. The weather has gotten significantly warmer, so unfortunately I can't judge their performance in the freezing cold. All I can say is that I should have replaced my battered old gloves with these sooner as I'm pretty sure they would have kept my fingers much warmer when it was negative last December and January! they are almost perfect. The grip is a bit poor as each finger's articulation is impossible, but that's fine for the way I use it. They are therefore ideal for use in a cold car, on a cold steering wheel, when shoveling snow, hiking or gardening.
