Type of review

I've had it for a year and three days. Bought these for blowing snow after searching Revain work gloves for decent reviews. The pads never dry out. I started hanging them with my fingertips from the ceiling light over the wood stove for a few days outdoors. They're not quite dry yet, which stinks the whole room; such as ammonia; really almost like urine. It's a disgusting smell. The seller and the manufacturer never answered questions about the moisture retention problem. I will probably have…

Have you lost your mittens? for men

I've known the golden rule since kindergarten. Mittens keep your hands warm. Compared to gloves and finger separation. I loved the many five star reviews and figured these would be my gloves for colder than usual days. Use 2. Heat was ok on a 6 degree day. I would give them a strong C+. The XXL size was larger than expected and the cuff was small. .I was fascinated by the black and gray color scheme. And then, when I read the label for some of the features, I had no idea the grey, cloth-like…

Finally a warm mitten.

The warmest mittens I've found. I have real problems with my fingers, in cold weather they work. I've used them for ice fishing, shoveling, walking, working and playing outdoors. The temperature was between 6 and 30 degrees. Standing still in single-digit temperatures and 10-15 mph winds, I would sometimes force myself to press my thumbs into my palms. You always have hand warmers in your pockets for extra comfort, but I don't need them yet. It's true, as others have said, that sometimes your…

Comfortable and warm - should have bought sooner!

My wife ordered five pairs of Carhartt gloves for me to try on for Christmas. I've always had cheaper gloves with my fingers taken off and a common problem I've had with them is that my fingers always get really cold after a while. The solution was to pull my fingers into the main body to warm them up against my palm and every other finger, which was a double-edged sword. As I warmed my fingers, my fingertips grew colder and colder. I only wear them on a few cold days and am happy with their…

Perfect! Keeps hands warm while shoveling!

I bought these mittens specifically for clearing snow during the cold winter months. I've been shoveling snow for years and the rest of my body felt very comfortable with layers to peel off as I warmed up while shoveling. However, I have worn normal gloves with my fingers for all these years. I have used good quality gloves but certainly not gloves for extreme cold or professional outdoor use. Anyway, my fingers were always very cold when shoveling, and often when I went back inside and took…

Cute and cozy mitten set

When looking for a pair of mittens I did my usual online research and was amazed at how much you can pay for a pair - who buys $400+ mittens ? ? Not being an Arctic Explorer shopper I just wanted a pair that wouldn't get wet from the snow when using a snow thrower and would keep my hands really warm. Do I really have to pay over $100 to keep my hands warm? Regardless of the price, there are always negative reviews, even for $200 mittens, so I decided to give them a try - they have better…

Why all the hate for mittens?

I run 16 miles every Saturday no matter how cold it is. The only parts of my body that I found difficult to protect from the cold were my legs (decided about a year ago) and my arms. I have warm gloves (they are cool: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008XM9SZU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but when the temperature drops below 20 or the wind blows, they are it not warm enough. There are products worn by runners that are better than regular gloves (these are called…

When you can buy Carhartt mittens, why buy anything else?

I don't work in construction, but over the past few years I've become a huge fan of Carhartt products. So many things are cheap and disposable these days, but Carhartt makes things for heavy use, which means they usually last a long time with regular use. I wouldn't be too surprised if my Carhartt raincoat outlasted me, it's just a beast. Nice warm mittens. Suitable for skiing or other activities in very cold weather. They're a little big and bulky, but that's to be expected. These are the…
