When looking for a pair of mittens I did my usual online research and was amazed at how much you can pay for a pair - who buys $400+ mittens ? ? Not being an Arctic Explorer shopper I just wanted a pair that wouldn't get wet from the snow when using a snow thrower and would keep my hands really warm. Do I really have to pay over $100 to keep my hands warm? Regardless of the price, there are always negative reviews, even for $200 mittens, so I decided to give them a try - they have better reviews than others and are made by Carhart, and I like some of their other products. Well I can say for $25 they exceeded my expectations and yes they keep your hands warm and seem like it's snowing. I just got them so we'll see how they hold up but I won't be using them for hard work projects or I'd buy leather mittens and I don't ski or snowboard so maybe it's more specialized. I have no plans to visit Antarctica yet. But for clearing snow and walking in the cold, it is quite enough. Time will tell their durability but they appear to be well made and I don't see any problems with seams or weak points.
