Review on Power Probe PP319FTCBLK III Black by Jake Larson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice tool, thanks Revain for the great product support!

First of all I would like to say that once again I am very impressed with the support for the Revain products. I worked the first one for about five minutes and then turned it off and never turned it back on. I contacted Power Probe tech support, gave them the information they needed and they said "We can't help you, talk to Revain" so I wasn't overly impressed with Power Probe. However, Revain picked it up the same day with no questions asked, I just dropped it off at the UPS store and 18 hours later I had a new one. connect to both the battery and the cigarette lighter. Simplicity is power, it beeps and shows green for ground and beeps and red for power. The display shows the voltage in tenths of a volt. The long cable makes measurements very easy. The device can source current or ground at the touch of a button, which is essentially the defining feature that separates a power probe from a computer-safe test lamp. It's also a very handy feature. It features a grounded alligator clip to allow remote component testing on the dyno, which is a very quick and easy troubleshooting tool. It has several other modes that essentially capture voltage transients, which can be useful for troubleshooting. I chose 3 because I feel it has all the features that a power probe can do better than a standard multimeter or test lamp. The 4 has a feature, I wish the 3 had a banana plug for an attached alligator ground clip to allow for additional sensors. It's certainly not something I need very often or can't handle. I decided that for the other 4 functions I would rather use my Fluke. Troubleshooting the arsenal.

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
