It's hard to believe there aren't any reviews for this quality refurbished boombox yet so let's get started. When my old boombox with AM/FM radio, CD player and outdated cassette deck died, I wanted a replacement without a cassette deck as I had long since got rid of my noisy (compared to a CD) and fragile audio system. cassettes. This Sony device was perfect. The USB and 3.5mm jacks for additional audio inputs don't matter to me, but they're nice to have. With no cassette deck required, this unit is conveniently smaller and lighter than the RCA boombox it replaced. The sound quality is (as expected) top-notch, with plenty of volume. The front panel controls work well and are intuitive. AM/FM radio is a true digital tuner with ten slots for AM and twenty for FM. The sensitivity of both areas appears to be normal. Beware of ghetto blasters from other manufacturers that claim to be "digital", which can also mean imprecise analog tuning with only a digital display. The CD deck worked perfectly (again, as expected). The usual repeat single/repeat all/shuffle options are available. This unit can be powered by the included 120V AC power cord or by six C-cells. Battery power is only supplied when the power cord is not connected. Two minuses of this manufacturer, not the device: First, this is the ZS-PS30CP model, not the ZSPS30CDAUX. Secondly, contrary to what was advertised, it didn't come with six type-C batteries, but instead an advertised separate blister pack containing a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable and a Trisonic laser lens cleaning kit. the box dies.
