Cannot handle surges

This inverter was purchased specifically to power the small portable ice maker I take with me when I boat or travel in our RV. I'm a retired electrician and have installed several major inverters and batteries for remote homes so I'm well versed in AC and DC power sources. I have measured when plugged in that the icemaker draws 3 watts at 120VAC for about 3 minutes as it moves the tray to the desired position and starts a small pump to push water from the tank into this tray. Then the refrigeration cycle begins and for about half a second the load ramps up to 800 watts, then drops to 130 watts and stays there for a 6 minute freeze cycle, then the tray resets and the whole process starts over, all automatically. However, if you connect an ice maker to this inverter connected to a fully charged and fresh 125AH RV battery, the inverter will turn off momentarily when the refrigeration cycle begins and then turn back on. Unfortunately, this causes the ice maker to turn off and the water to drain into the bowl. A soft start is not possible as each time you turn on the ice maker it takes 3 minutes to fill the bowl and there is no way to turn it off just before the start of the refrigeration cycle. The load on this ice maker is 800 watts, which is well below this maximum output. Also, that peak spike lasts much less than a second before settling into a steady 130 watt load. In addition, the battery voltage is measured and the battery voltage briefly drops from 14 volts to 12 volts and then drops back to 14 volts almost immediately because the inverter has just switched off. around a large 50 pound 2000 watt inverter so I settled on this unit which was small and light and the specs said it could handle that load easily but it turned out it didn't was. I gave it 2 stars as I like the small size and it will likely power multiple lamps, a flat screen TV and similar resistive loads, but it clearly cannot handle inductive loads although it does meet the specs so the product description gives that warning must contain . .
