Simple and practical, this portable battery is the best portable battery I've ever used. This darn thing automatically adjusts to any battery size to fit ANY type of car or car battery. To attach it, simply push down to spread your arms wide enough to reach the sides of the battery and lift straight up. Gravity does the rest. To release the battery, simply insert the battery, gently press on the carrying handle and remove. No adjustments, no screws, no ratchet, no metal clips on the battery terminals, just gravity to hold the battery securely in the Lisle battery holder and a gentle push to release. I can safely and easily lift, handle and carry heavy, acid-filled batteries of any size. Where have you been all my life? And it's MADE IN THE USA! I bought this specifically to hold a custom 36 volt lead acid battery for my Black and Decker cordless lawn mower, which is about the size of a typical car battery. Instead of a sling for a 36V battery, B&D designed the battery with an 11-inch wide, flat plastic cover and flat, raised horizontal handles for a two-handed grip. I'm sure B&D designed it so the handles make it more comfortable, but it's awkward and requires both hands to lift and balance the heavy battery at the front to carry it to the charger, which isn't fun at all. Simply ignoring Black & Decker's chunky battery design, the Lisle Battery Carrier slides right over the plastic top to provide a secure fit, making it very easy to lift and carry that heavy battery with one hand. I've since tried it on many other battery sizes and types, from my lawn mower to my SUV, from my wife's minivan to my tool box (yes, the tool box has a handle, just try everything) and it goes with everything with one strong lock. And did I mention it's MADE IN THE USA? In case you are wondering, I do NOT work for Lisle and have nothing to do with the company or any of its affiliates. I REALLY value quality, useful and affordable products and intend to tell everyone I know about this battery holder. I also intend to buy a few more as gifts for my brothers and brother-in-law, which I am sure they will buy as gifts for their children. For the price you can't go wrong. It's designed to last, so you'll be passing it on to your grandkids when they're big enough to safely lift a car battery.
