mech. My mind has never penetrated them. And I don't like that you can't stack the blocks. Only what really fits together counts. It even evolved for me to find blocks that fit together. Later I realized that they correspond to the next number. So 4 stacks on 3 and 5 stacks on 4 etc. is too hard for my LO. So the blocks only worked for teething, which I think defeats the whole purpose of blocks. The colors are great, the concept is nice. I think if they removed the shapes that matched the product would make more sense.
