I love this thing! I recently brought back some honey that was *very* runny and runny, so much so that I couldn't even put it on a spoon and get it all the way into my cup without it dripping off the spoon no matter what I did. I had never used a honey dipper before, thinking it would drip worse than a spoon, but in desperation I ordered two: this one and the RSVP silicone endurance honey dipper. Well, I discovered the secret of their use. without them it drips *generally*! The secret is that after you've dipped the honey dipper into the honey, you have to hold it *horizontally* over the honey jar and swirl it around a bit (still keeping it horizontal), and until you've swirled it around a few times it won't give drops! (Check out the video - my apologies for the weird noise in the video, you can turn the sound off while watching.) The reason I took two was to test two different ones, and here's what I did found out: This Le Creuset honey dipper holds less honey than RSVP. It's not bad or good, it's just a matter of preference for how much honey you want from a single dive. Another thing I found is that the wooden handle of this honey gets dirty quickly if you put it in tea. I love wood and I don't mind, if you mind you might prefer the RSVP brand stainless steel bucket handle.
