Review on 🔧 Dorman 602-509 Windshield Wiper Transmission Assembly: Durable and Efficient Solution by Kevin Kue

A local "kidnapper" charged over $400 to fix the wobbly wipers on my wife's 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid. After watching a few DIY videos on YouTube and waiting days for delivery, this unit arrived and was installed in 1 hour 45 minutes including testing and cleaning all the tools. I also took the time to anoint all the fasteners with anti-seize paste and replaced a few zip ties that were brittle and torn. This job required a ratchet with 10mm, 14mm and 12mm sockets and a screwdriver. No special tools are required. This unit is powder coated black (I think?) and seems better protected against corrosion than the OEM. I will keep the old block and just replace the worn out plastic bushings. Then I have a hot-swap fallback for the next episode.
