Review on Juki MO-735 Serger & Cover Hem Machine with 5-Thread Capability by Ada Rola ᠌

Does not meet my expectations, it was not worth buying.

At the beginning, when buying, I was very pleased with the overlock, but when I got to know him better, I was disappointed. Two weeks later, I brought it back to the store and they offered me a worthy replacement - Bernina 1300. Of course, the difference in price is significant, but Bernina is worth it. With a standard tension on the number 4, it has a wonderful seam and does not dig. A big plus is a display with hints, that is, you don’t have to constantly flip through the instructions, everything is in front of your eyes, although the instructions are very good, especially the color refueling scheme. Most of all, I was surprised that no jersey is a hindrance for him, for him the transition from thin to thick turned out to be a trifle, and most importantly, he has a thread micro-regulator that adjusts the length of the loop, and you can adjust sagging or vice versa, tightened loops without touching the thread tension knobs. It also comes with additional paws for sewing on an elastic band and a hidden seam. In general, I am delighted with the Bernina 1300, despite the fact that it is household, the overlock does its job perfectly, which I cannot say about the Juki 735.

Pros
  • I bought this overlock relatively recently, I came to the store for an ordinary overlock, but when I found out about the capabilities of the MO-735, I decided to buy it, since I work a lot with knitwear. Mostly I sew for myself, but a lot. It is convenient that it takes up little space, it is still one car, not two. I spent two weeks studying the machine, tried it on various fabrics, knitwear in the first place.
Cons
  • The first thing I can say is that in the usual edge of the overcasting seam, when switching from thin cotton to a slightly denser one, I immediately had to change the thread tension settings, by trial and error, I got a good seam, but with a strong desire you could find limitations. But compared to working on knitwear, these were trifles. When processing the bottom of the product, when switching from thin to thick, he stopped in one place and looped, also when processing the sleeve, since there was no sleeve platform, he often had to stop and move the fabric, and at almost every stop he made a pass. A lot of nerves were spent and as a result I did not finish the dress, most of the seams had to be dissolved.

With its pros. I didn’t regret at all that I bought this particular model of a carpet lock. Of course, I had to take the time to figure it out. The threads are refueled easily. Different cons: I found errors in the instructions, even in the drawings. I think they can prevent some from mastering the car right away.
