UPDATED: (4 stars to 1 star) We have two dogs, a pit mix and a sausage mix. This collar is great for our pet, she doesn't hate it at all yet is super effective with a tug and "no". In 5 minutes our pet went from being a crazy toffee (she literally pulled my 11 year old son and wife off their feet) to a totally obedient crawling super dog. Our 30lb sausage mix had a collar injury and wouldn't leave. on a leash for a week after the first correction (probably overtightened). It was reported that during Fright Week she would lie down, roll over and refuse to walk, even with a flat collar. We are still working with her to make her feel safe on the leash again. If I could turn back time I would caution myself to be very careful with our little dog, almost no effort with the fix. small, we don't really notice her twitching but it's still a bad habit and we plan on getting her a plastic collar clip in the future. Reviews say it's less effective than collars like this one, but maybe what she needs is something less effective. By the way, I wore that collar myself, and my wife twitched as if she were by our pit. It's not very painful, it's uncomfortable. but it doesn't hurt. This collar seems to work much better than our horn/vibration/shock collars. Somehow, our pit knows exactly what's expected of her with this collar, while slurping the E-collar doesn't seem so clear to her. An e-collar is great for rough conditions or other off-leash problems, but when it comes to walking, this collar is a lot better. Thank God our dogs are not runners and not aggressive! If this happens while walking near the road, tragedy could result. We will return them and buy something that doesn't break (I've read in other reviews that this happens to others).
