So when you put something you want to vacuum in the bag, you need to center the contents in the vacuum bag! If you try to open one of these bags, the contents will squirt out as they have settled to the bottom of the bag. I believe the notch should be placed at the open end of the bag. In the form in which it is now placed, the notch is useless.
