Review on πŸ”¦ HYB H11 6000K Xenon HID Bulb Replacement Kit for H8 H9 Headlights (Pack of 2) by Chris Meckler

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Uneven paint, loose socket, loose wire connector (2015 Ford Escape)

Installed today. One of the lamps looks perfect 6000k. Very clean cold white. The other pear has a slight yellow tinge, a slightly warmer white. It seems to be over 4800k. It's not easy to say, but I noticed it immediately. The lamp with the yellower tint has the worst fitting of the two. It has come loose in the housing socket. If the cable is subjected to torsional stress, the light bulb unscrews immediately. Apply a drop of hot glue to the base to prevent it from loosening or vibrating. It's still loose in the case even with the cable not tugging on it, but the hot glue helped. The connector on the wire from the bulb to the car bulb wire was reversed or misaligned with the retaining tab, further loosening the connection. I used hot glue again to hold it in place. I hope it's not the wrong polarity because it still works, so I think it's ok. Would have been 5 stars if it weren't for these 3 main issues. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because most people won't notice any of them. Onions are yellower. What bothers me the most is the color difference. I see it on the street too. One side appears brighter than the more yellow one with a true 6000k bulb. I hope these bulbs don't last too long so I can buy new ones and eventually fix this problem. I hope you have more experience than me.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Basically OK, but...
