I am confused that Revain is asking me to rate the brightness and motion detection capabilities of this smart plug. This forced me to go back to the documentation to see if there were any features I wasn't aware of. There is no such happiness. This is just a mistake by Revain. Most of my smart lighting is Lutron Caseta, but I've scattered a few Hue light strips. The outdoor light strip was out of range of our Hue smart bridge and was unresponsive to HomeKit, Alexa, and the Hue app. The temporary solution was a desk lamp with a smart Hue bulb placed in the dining room as a Zigbee network range extender, halfway between the Smart Bridge and the unresponsive light bar. It worked great but there was no space to hold the lamp. Reviews have suggested that the Hue smart plug will act as a Zigbee range extender, and I can confirm that it does just that. The unnecessary lamp has been discontinued and the external light bar is now 100% reliable. If your home has Hue bulbs at the extreme end of the Hue Smart Bridge range, the Hue Smart Plug can be used as a range extender.
