I mostly use a gold stud earring and ran out of a matching back; I used the straps that came with some jewelry, sometimes the straps were a bit loose. Having gold stud earrings since I got my ears pierced, they are very special to me and I don't want to lose them. Also, I didn't like the whole look of gold studs with some kind of lining (I'm an old lady, please treat me!). They fit snugly and look very, very pretty! Now all my gold stud earrings have a matching gold back. The old lady is happy here! Snug fitting pads make me feel more secure as they won't loosen or fall off without my knowledge. Also, the pads are available at a good price.
