Connect it to your car's Bluetooth ODBII reader and with the right equipment you can quickly and easily read dozens of engine parameters. You need something else to read the bluetooth signal (generally use your bluetooth enabled smartphone or tablet and downloaded app of your choice; for software I paid and downloaded Torque, probably the most popular ODBII app [there is also a free version], but as mentioned there are many apps you can use, just pick the one you like). The exact data available from each ODBII reader depends on the vehicle itself; Some car computers will tell you less than another car. As a general rule, the newer your car, the more information its computer can give you through the ODBII connector. This Bluetooth reader and Torque work together seamlessly. Any minor issues I have are with Torque itself and not with this bluetooth reader. Anyway, this reader works great and easy for me and I highly recommend it.
