The difference is day and night. From maintenance-free to 3+ stable bars.

I wasn't sure how well this would work in my situation, it's difficult to get even a level of service on most of my properties and in the house or basement it was a hopeless case. I figured that in the worst case scenario, if it doesn't work, I can always return it. After it arrived, reading the manual, I began to doubt if it could even work. According to the manual, an input signal of -90 dB or higher is required. Further reading showed that it could handle a -100dB signal. When I climbed onto the roof and looked for the strongest signal, the maximum I could get was -118dB. The endpoint was the corner of the roof that juts out over our back porch, with signal levels as low as -106dB. I went ahead and finished running the wires thinking that the worst case scenario it wouldn't work, but anyway what's the harm in trying. To my surprise, when I was within 15 feet of an indoor antenna, I went from no service, 0 bars, to peaks between 3 and 4 bars with signal strength in the -80dB range. So now I'm sitting in my living room, no longer missing incoming calls and have access to LTE and 5G internet, which is now really usable. I have opted for the 5 band version and my friends and family also enjoy the benefits when they come to visit no matter what carrier they use. The only thing that could improve this setup would be if there was a way to increase the range/distance of the boosted signal to cover more rooms in the house and get into the garage. But actually I'm just greedy because with the entryway we're working with, it's already working better than it should. Seems a bit overpriced at first but this make/model is still on the lower end of the price scale, covers all 5 major airlines and their offshoots, comes with all required mounting hardware and is easy to read/note for installation. Instructions complete with pictures. I had everything set up in about 30 minutes after deciding where to mount things to get the best out of them. The best investment I've made this year.
