So this is another system I have purchased from TonTon Security and once again I am very happy with its performance! This is one of the best in their mid-range professional lineup. I install security systems and this has been the easiest thing to set up so far. Pros and cons Pros: The initial setup is really easy. You use a wizard that is very fast and hassle-free. They connect the cameras to the NVR at the factory, which saves me a lot of time because you don't have to "open" the cameras. After setting up the intranet wizard, the cameras will automatically load one by one quickly. TonTon uses this pre-paired format on their other cameras that I have installed. Appearance and quality are durable, sturdy for outdoor installation. The included software is easy to learn. The cameras only need a cable coming from them, power supplies. You can use wired ethernet, but it is not required. Then the NVR system creates its own network and the cameras can easily connect to it. So the benefit here is that you do NOT have to connect it to your own home or work WiFi. This way your bandwidth will not be impacted. It was a big plus in one of my setups. Of course, if you want to remotely control/monitor the cameras, you'll need to connect them to your WiFi to do so. The video is very clear. You get full HD quality. On my first install, we pushed the video to multiple 4K monitors and were even impressed with the night vision view. It uses something called IR filtering to get clear night vision. The PIR sensor works great! Here cameras use a sensor that checks the temperature of a moving object from different angles; This allows the camera to better recognize whether the motion detection is a random outdoor object or a real person. We installed 2TB in it just to increase storage rotation time. Upgrading the hard drive was very easy. Less than 5 minutes. Don't forget to format the new drive when you do this. This is done through the menu screen in the software. My favorite features are the email notifications and the fact that each camera acts as a Wi-Fi repeater, relaying the signal to the nearest cameras in the area. The result is strong internal throughput when strategically tuned. Cons Not many cons! Note that if you have a very humid/rainy installation site, the included cable protectors are sometimes not sufficient. So use enough electrical tape to make watertight connections. We simply use PVC pipes when installation is required in such a place. In general, this system is worth the money. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it. I will do a video review after the next purchase.
